🧐FAQs

Trying to cover some questions that may arise

Can I receive the $JMONKE token if I invested via Private Sale or Seed round?

Yes. You need to contact an admin in the Telegram chat (connected on the jailmonke.com website). We will ask you to verify your contribution and send you the token allocation manually. This is done periodically, as we need to unpause the contract to send these token. So please be patient.

Why is the Token contract paused?

At this time, the token is meant to be non-transferable. Nobody can add liquidity, a price does not exist and the token cannot be traded. That is because we are currently using it for voting only. If the community decides to go a different route in the future it can be considered.

Why is the Token contract periodically unpaused? Why are there transactions?

We will need to unpause the contract whenever we allocate token to Seed Round / SAFT / Private Sale participants or the Top 5 Holders. They will show us proof they invested and we will send them their allocation. To do so, we need to unpause the contract. This is not possible otherwise as these investors did not necessarily invest in the Bridge contract.

Why is the contract not set in a way that you cannot “rug pull” us?

At this time, there is no price, there is no liquidity and the token cannot be transferred. There is no way to rug pull anyone. If the community should decide to make this token transferable at some point in the future, the contract will be set in a way that most of the usual things you know to be important for tradeable token will be taken care of as well (like minting, etc). For now, we need all the flexibility there is, because we cannot know how much people paid in via pre sales, what other kinds of victims there may be, etc.

Can I receive $JMONKE for my losses in Syncus DAO?

The problem is that these are very hard to verify. People will claim their buys as losses, their deposited token as losses, etc. At this time we would not know how to do this fairly, so for now this token is the participation token of the Zkasino scam. If the community decides differently later on and there is a truly fair way to decide on it, we can always re-consider.

Why is there a team allocation?

As stated above, the team allocation serves two purposes: firstly, it gives those people actively working with lawyers, witnesses and authorities a higher voting share. That s just 3.33% by the way. It is something that we did want to retain, because we are likely the ones that will work on most initiatives, even though there is no legally binding vote obviously. And second, yes, in the case that this token ever becomes something else than just a participation token (which is something the community will decide if they want to), there is still a team that should be incentivized to keep working. Among the things that need taking care of is a dev as well. The current team is open to any rational arguments, but please note that we are doing all this for free at the moment. It’s hard to argue with 90% (after all is said and done) allocation to all victims in our view.

Are we just building another scam on top of a scam?

Not sure how that claim would make sense. Right now, the token involves zero action on victim’s side. No connection to a website to claim, not transferable, it just sits in your wallet.

If ever the token becomes transferable and there is liquidity, it will only come organically. It won’t be suggested by us. If money gets involved, the chances are higher you get attacked somehow, so in that case we’d ask you to be extra careful what links you click and always doublecheck even links on the jailmonke.com website. But just to be clear: if we do not have liquidity added, then there is nothing to rug pull.

Why do you have a dev? I could have helped you dev as well

That’s really great, but to get this off the ground in a manner where we do not have to do hundreds of calls and messages to co-ordinate, we picked a dev that we knew in person who was willing to help quickly. We also had a look inside the community, but those efforts turned out to be too complicated and everyone has their own vision about a token, so we just went with the easy way (for us). Anyone can launch a token, we won’t “fight” you. This one is a gift from us, used for some community voting and we went with a dev we trusted. Sorry we did not reach out to you specifically, if you could have also done this, but we wanted to be fast and efficient. Plus – it’s good to know the dev personally :D.

Why does Metamask sometimes display a phishing or similar warning when interacting on Snapshot?

This is not always the case, but depends on security settings in Metamask. There is nothing we can do about it. We are using snapshot.org, a site used for DAO governance for years by some of the largest projects. It is a good idea to use Rabbywallet by the way. In our experience, Rabby is much better with the security risk warnings. But all we can say here is that you need to always make sure you are on snapshot.org as links on websites can get hacked. But as long as that is the case, you should be fine.
